*The word Arya in Sankrit means a 'noble one' or 'of good family'.

*The Aryans are the original inhabitants of Central Asia.They arrived in India around 1500 BC.

*The region where the Aryans first settled in India was called Sapta Sindhu.

*The period when the Aryans settled in India is known as the Early vedic perod(1500 -1000BC)

*The period of Aryans penetration into India is known as the Later vedic period(1000BC-600BC)

*The Aryans were the first people in India to know the use of Iron and bought Horses along with them.

*The Aryans first divided the society into four classes-Brahmins,Kshatriyas,Vaishyas and Sudras on the basis of their Occupation.
